Information about the festival
The 14th African Film Days Munich present five feature films and one documentary from Benin, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo that steer clear of the familiar media portrayals and prevailing clichés.
The series will kick off on Friday, 11 October 2024 with the award-winning drama Goodbye Julia (2023) by Sudanese director Mohamed Kordofani. The screening will be followed by an opening reception in the rehearsal hall in Building C of the Gasteig HP8.
Further highlights include the online film talk on Saturday evening with Belgian-Congolese artist Baloji after the screening of his autobiographical feature debut Augure/Omen (2023).
The African Film Days Munich are organised by the nonprofit Afrikanische Filmtage MUC e. V. in collaboration with Filmstadt München and the Munich Public Library with funding from the City of Munich.
