Wynton Marsalis is one of the best jazz trumpet players since Dizzie Gillespie and, according to his classical colleague Maurice André, “possibly the greatest trumpet player of all time”. His Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, which consists of fifteen of the USA’s pre-eminent jazz soloists, is a tour de force in big band format.

The nine-times Grammy award and Pulitzer Prize winner is also a committed jazz ambassador. With his orchestra, Marsalis performs at their home base, New York’s Lincoln Center as well as touring worldwide with an ever changing repertoire. On their return to Munich after their acclaimed concert here, this superlative orchestra will fill the Isarphilharmonie with a good dose of vibrant American jazz tradition – sophisticated, soulful and stunning!
