The popular, versatile a cappella choir munich blue notes is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. With a core repertoire consisting of pop and jazz, the munich blue notes are not ones to exclude other genres, such as rock, rap and Latin, from their setlist.

The choir’s congenial double leadership consists of Benedikt Ruf, a qualified music educator who has been associated with the choir for many years; and Florian Wagner, a musician-comedian, who joined the formation a year ago. For this special concert, the choir, which usually performs its original arrangements a cappella in four to eleven voices, teams up with a jazz quartet.

The Maximilian Höcherl Quartett – a dynamic, energetic jazz quartet with a repertoire consisting of originals and jazz standards from the Great American Songbook.

Jazz and pop vocalist, lyricist and composer Maximilian Höcherl, a “multi-stylistic vocal experimenter with charisma” (Süddeutsche Zeitung), has performed with such greats as Bobby McFerrin, Willi Johanns and Christian Elsässer. His quartet consists of Stephan Weiser on the piano, Peter Cudek on bass and Christoph Holzhauser on drums.

Experience a quartet that inspires and an cappella choir that is a joy to behold – double the pleasure with this unique combination.
