With his unique sound quality, Alejandro Carrillo Gamboa sounds like an entire chamber orchestra, say the critics. He dedicates this evening’s programme, titled Mexican Guitar Night, to works from his native Mexico and from Latin America. With his own compositions and captivating vocals, the artist builds very personal musical bridges between the two continents and new musical connections to Europe.

“Mexican-born, Alejandro Carrillo Gamboa elicited from the six strings every sound that the instrument can muster. The initial massive chords turned into dancing melodies, into melancholy, before rearing up again. And all that with an almost tangible emotional depth.”
