The 73rd ARD International Music Competition will take place in Munich from 3 to 20 September 2024 in the disciplines wind quartet, voice, oboe and cello. The semi-finalists in the voice category will be accompanied by the Munich Radio Orchestra.

The 73rd ARD International Music Competition will take place in Munich from 3 to 20 September 2024 in the disciplines wind quartet, voice, oboe and cello. The semi-finalists in the voice category will be accompanied by the Munich Radio Orchestra.

The ARD International Music Competition is the world’s largest classical music competition. Held each year, participants compete in four of a total of 21 categories. This year’s voice semi-finals and finals take place at the Isarphilharmonie.

 

Since its inception in 1952, many internationally renowned artists have emerged from the competition, including Jessye Norman, Thomas Quasthoff, Christian Tetzlaff, Maurice André, Antoine Tamestit and the Ebène Quartet.
